Measuring Women´s Acess to Economic Resources

Women’s equal access to and control over economic and financial resources is critical not only for the achievement of gender equality but also for sustainable global economic growth. Long-standing inequalities in the gender distribution of economic and financial resources have placed women at a disadvantage in their capability to participate in, contribute to and benefit from broader processes of development. The international community has made strong, comprehensive commitments to gender equality and women’s rights in access to and control over economic resources. These efforts must be met with an equal commitment to the accurate measurement of women’s participation in development interventions.

As a women-owned and founded enterprise, ELIM is deeply committed to not only quantifying the benefit to women and girls in development driven interventions at micro level, but also measuring the long-term impact and multiplier effect of their active participation in social, political, financial and economic decisions for sustainable growth at macro-level.
