Early Childhood Development

The past decade has seen the world make great strides towards increasing access to education across the board, particularly for women and girls. Nonetheless, much more needs to be done to see this change reflected across country-specific contexts. The reality is that while the enrolment in primary education in developing countries has reached 91 per cent, 57 million children remain out of school, more than half of which live in sub-Saharan Africa.

ELIM recognises that real sustainable development hinges on educating the next generation, we are committed to supporting early childhood education to effect change from their very first day in school. Through our evaluation work, we are gathering evidence on the benefits and lessons of school readiness as a viable strategy to close the learning gap and improve equity in achieving lifelong learning and full developmental potential among young children.
